Who we are
Grant Engine is operated by The Lion Project, a nonprofit organization (EIN 84-3662435). This policy describes how we handle information you provide when you use grants.thelionproject.org. Questions? Email frankie@thelionproject.org.
Information we collect
- Account information: your email address and password (stored as a hash by our authentication provider, Supabase).
- Organization profile: information you enter about your nonprofit — name, EIN, mission, programs, budget range, staff details, and documents you upload (such as 990 filings or past applications).
- Lead and snapshot data: if you complete the free Grant Readiness Snapshot, we store the details you submit so we can follow up with relevant grant information.
- Payment information: handled entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your card number.
- Usage analytics: we use Google Analytics / Google Ads conversion tracking and Sentry error monitoring to understand how the product is used and to fix problems.
How we use your information
- To match your organization with relevant grant opportunities.
- To generate application drafts and related materials at your request. Your profile data is sent to our AI provider (Anthropic) solely to produce your drafts; it is not used to train their models.
- To send you matched-grant emails, deadline reminders, and account notices.
- To process subscriptions and manage billing through Stripe.
What we do not do
- We do not sell your personal information.
- We do not share your organization profile with other customers.
- We do not send marketing on behalf of third parties.
Service providers
We rely on a small set of processors to run the service: Supabase (database and authentication), Vercel (hosting), Stripe (payments), Resend (email delivery), Anthropic (AI drafting), Google (analytics and advertising measurement), and Sentry (error monitoring). Each receives only the data needed to perform its function.
Data retention and deletion
We keep your data while your account is active. You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by emailing frankie@thelionproject.org; we will remove it within 30 days, except records we are legally required to keep (such as billing records).
Email preferences
Every marketing or digest email we send includes a way to opt out. Account and billing notices are sent as long as you have an active account.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes, we will update the date above and notify active subscribers by email.
